I experienced the High Line for the first time today. I had no expectations, but in my mind it was something completely different from the industrial and stark elevated walkway that it is. If you're seeking to immerse yourself in an area of abandoned warehouses, steel yards and graffiti, make your way there.

It was a cold and sunny Martin Luther King, Jr. day in Manhattan.  I managed to capture a few shots on my way to midtown today.

This horse was watching me, we made eye contact several times as I walked in his direction.  I've heard many sad stories about poor treatment of the Central Park horses, I hope they're untrue.  I walked up to this guy and we shared a moment.

Sunday, January 15th, in NYC:

A couple strolls hand in hand on the Upper East Side, oblivious to the arctic temperatures:

Hung Ry on Bond St is currently representing Boston. My name and my team are on the front door.  I think it's a sign Lindsey and I should visit and try their hand-pulled noodles in the near future.

Ponder this one:

Getting downtown via the subway is complex right now.  The 6 only runs to Union Square, then it's express to the Brooklyn Bridge due to construction at all the stations in between, which I learned the hard way thanks to iTunes and my headphones.  Peace Brooklyn, it's been real.

friday the 13th in manhattan

A very talented friend in the creative field told me that if you practice anything for 1 hour a day for 1 year, you will be amazed at how much you can learn.  I've decided I'm going to do this with photography, NYC has so much visually happening.  Today is day 1.  All taken with my Canon 30D.  One of these days I will start learning about shutter speed and aperture.
